Barn Owl perched on a ledge in an old barn.
In my previous life I was a secretary for a local company and thoroughly enjoyed my role. However, art always called my name and I did not know if I would every have the very special opportunity to retire and devote my free time to doing what I love. I am fortunate to be retired and painting up a storm. I adore vibrant colors and trying to find my own unique style which is depicted in Prancing Poppies. I have taken several painting classes and have had the good fortune to have talented and encouraging teachers. I started in watercolor and now I specialize in acrylic painting and making decorative plaques. For the plaques I spread joint compound over the surface, dip the item in water, press it into the joint compound and remove it. ...

Hi Pam .. many images I see tell me stories and when I see owls sometimes I recognize them as owls I know (grin) .... this is Humphrey ... no cousin of mine but I did meet him one summer when I was visiting another friend just outside of Winona (way back in the dark ages hehe) ... he was an ok chap but not too friendly ... can't blame him I think he had no love for snowy owls ... still he was kind enough to chat for awhile so we did ... mostly about what it was like to live in the woods where he spent his whole life ... now me I love to wander ... been many places with so much more to see ... we ended up just perching silently for a bit watching the moon come up so I left him to his hunts and traveled on ... happy you were able to get his photo .. ... (big smile)
